Target Group

Applicants under the SPED must be employers of persons with disabilities and their employees with disabilities. 

The categories of disability included： 

• Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder;
• Specific learning difficulties;
• Physical disability;
• Visceral disability;
• Speech impairment;
• Mental illness;
• Autism;
• Intellectual disability;
• Visual impairment;
• Hearing impairment.

Applicants must be nominated and referred by the following referring organisations：

• Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) operating SWD-subvented vocational rehabilitation services；
• NGOs running training courses for persons with disabilities or persons recovering from work injuries with the funding support of the Employees Retraining Board；
• the Selective Placement Division of the Labour Department；
• the Vocational Training Council；
• Po Leung Kuk.

 Application and Withdrawal

Application：

• Social Welfare Department will invite applications throughout the year.
• Applicants may consult Po Leung Kuk for cases requiring special arrangement.
• Applications from employers should be made on the specified application form to Social Welfare Department through the referring organisations, together with quotations from at least two suppliers for each item.
